As Medical Director of Hanley Center, in FL, Dr. Krantz draws from a wealth of experience in addictionology and family medicine. Prior to 2001, she was the Medical Director for the Center for Alcohol and Drug Studies.

Health Care Professionals

March 24th Berk was joined by Bob Larsen, MD.

Coordinator of Hazelden's Health Care Professional’s Program in Center City, notes that nurses share many of the same blocks to recovery experienced by health professionals in general. Examples include: difficulty accepting the role of a patient; difficulty asking for help; workaholism or using work as an escape from facing one's issues; and poor self-care.

Tom and Lisa are an inspiring example of a successful relationship in recovery. They joined Berk to talk about their personal recovery journeys and the many issues that couples will face while working their programs.

Women Specific Issues in Recovery

March 10th Berk was joined by Brenda Iliff, MA, Director of Clinical Services at Hazelden's new Women's Recovery Center

Hazelden's new Women's Recovery Center is designed to address the unique needs of women in recovery. With a 400% increase calls requesting treatment for women, the center will provide specific care to more women.
